Degrees:
B.S. in Print and Web Journalism, Austin Peay State University
M.S. in Mathematics, IUPUI
After serving as the accountant for various businesses, Catherine completed the financials and accounting work for her own construction business. When her children were in school, she helped their friends conquer mathematics. This prompted a desire to help students overcome their fear of mathematics. In the pursuit of graduate coursework, she was awarded a Woodrow Wilson Fellowship and completed a M.S. in Mathematics.
Catherine has worked at various schools in both the middle and high school levels. Teaching experience includes an alternative school, a private school, and a public school for students with disabilities. She successfully helped students complete their courses and pass the challenging End of Course Assessment (ECA). Catherine now proudly teaches mathematics at Ball State University. Her research interests continue to direct her toward student autonomy and overcoming their fear/dislike of math. In her spare time, she works as a financial professional and spends time with her family.
