Access to ethical and responsible news content has never been more important than it is now. If you want to produce accurate and engaging news reports that uncover untold stories and strengthen communities, the Broadcast and Multimedia News concentration is the right place for you. In this concentration, you'll learn to create ethical and engaging news content that can be distributed across platforms.

Broadcast and Multimedia News students take courses in journalistic storytelling, video and audio, news editing, covering issues, producing, broadcast news and sports writing, advanced audio and video reporting, specialized story form strategy, media law, ethics and social responsibility, as well as directed electives. And you can join NewsLink Indiana, our student-run nightly newscast, as a reporter, anchor, producer, and more.

By the time your senior year comes around, you'll have a compelling portfolio to share with news organizations across the country where you’ll be ready to work in front of or behind the camera. You will also be prepared for roles where strong skills in writing, research, critical thinking, and communication are valued. Additionally, this concentration is an excellent precursor to graduate studies in journalism, communications, public relations, and other related fields.
