Adrienne L. Newman is an Instructor in the Department of Social Work at Ball State University, joining the faculty in 2016.
Adrienne received her Master of Social Work from the University of Tennessee and her bachelor’s degree with a double major in social work and criminal justice from Ball State University. She was a social work practitioner and administrator in Nashville, Tennessee for 27 years focusing on development, implementation, and evaluation of services for frail older adults, homebound seniors, and their caregivers. Grant writing, strategic planning, community development, macro social work practice, and graduate and undergraduate field instruction were her specialty areas. Adrienne served as a member and Chair of the Tennessee Board of Social Workers. The Tennessee Conference on Social Welfare, the Greater Nashville Regional Council Area Agency on Aging and Disability, The Tennessean, and The Nashville Business Journal presented her awards for advocacy, service, and community improvement.
