University Libraries WorkshopText analysis, also known as "distant reading," is the process of sorting and analyzing a body of documents to derive new insights and understandings. It is text as data. This workshop provides an overview of the fundamental elements of text analysis, including techniques, applications, and common misconceptions. The workshop will showcase several scholarly projects and introduce participants to the free Voyant text-mining platform.
