12 p.m.
In today's academic landscape, where outreach and community engagement are essential, integrating these elements into academic programs is crucial. At Ball State University's School of Art, Shantanu Suman established Studio 165+, a graphic design course that collaborates with Muncie communities, and Muncie Action Plan, and Building Better Neighborhoods to create visual identities and promotional materials. Through research-driven design projects, including work on Muncie's American Rescue Plan funding program, students gain hands-on experience applying theory to practice while developing civic and leadership skills. In this Lunch and Learn session, Shantanu will share insights from managing this ongoing, collaborative campaign.
4 p.m.
Ball State faculty and area schoolteachers are invited to a walk-through of "The Art of Elizabeth Catlett" with DOMA director Dr. Robert La France.
