This scholarship is for students participating in a high-impact practice course (undergraduate research, immersive learning, or diverse perspectives) at Ball State. Typical awards will be up to $500.

Any undergraduate student who is participating in a Spring 2025 course with the undergraduate research, immersive learning, or diverse perspectives Banner attribute is eligible to apply. (Students can check in Banner or check with their instructor to see if their course is eligible.) Preference will be given to students of color, first-generation college students, and students with high financial need. All applicants may be asked to submit additional materials and/or participate in an interview if the review committee requires more information to make funding decisions.

Funding can be used to offset costs of the course including travel (field studies, field trips, or professional conferences); research equipment or supplies necessary for the course; professional attire; lost wages if a student has to miss work to attend course-related activities; and/or other course-related costs as articulated by the applicant.

Please note: If selected, the money will be placed in the student's Ball State account. If the student has an outstanding balance, the money will first be used to pay the balance. If the student does not register or withdraws from the course, the funds will not be transferred to the student's account.

Additionally, if selected, students will be expected to submit photos and a reflection on their experience.

The deadline is January 24, 2025 at 11:59 p.m.
