Friday Night Cardboard returns to Bracken Library this Friday, October 21, from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. Join Ball State University Libraries on Bracken Library’s lower level for this popular series of tabletop gaming nights.

Things are getting eerie – in real life with Halloween approaching but also in this month’s featured game, Mountains of Madness. Based on the novella At the Mountains of Madness by H.P. Lovecraft, the game challenges a team of 3-5 explorers to reach the summit of an Antarctic mountain. The climb will require cooperation, but as the group encounters strange phenomena their sanity and ability to communicate begins to slip. This spooky party game challenges players to keep working together while restrictions are placed on how they can discuss and collaborate.

University Libraries hosts Friday Night Cardboard on the third Friday of every month when Fall and Spring classes are in session. Board, card, and word games from Education, Music and Media’s collection will be available to play, including modern board games like Catan, Carcassone, and Power Grid, and family classics like Uno, Scrabble, and Monopoly. Participants are welcome to bring a game of their own to share.

Advanced registration is not required. Just show up, and bring your friends!
