University Libraries WorkshopAre you interested in learning more about Omeka, online exhibits, and content management systems? In this workshop, we will discuss the foundational principles behind the Omeka platform, best practices, and how various organizations have used it. Attendees will also receive a tutorial walk-through of the platform, importing and organizing collections, exhibit building, additional plugins for expanded features, and other significant resources.

University Libraries WorkshopWhen is it o.k. to use an image in a paper, thesis, artwork, or creative project, and when do you need to seek permission from the copyright holder? How do you cite an image? In this workshop we’ll define “public domain” and “Creative Commons,” discuss what counts as fair use, and describe best practices for image captions. We’ll also highlight online collections where you can find high quality photography and images that are free to use.

University Libraries WorkshopThis session will explore ESRI Business Analyst. Business Analyst is a cloud-based mapping solution that provides simple and easy-to-use GIS capabilities for analyzing and comparing communities. By using the thousands of variables available in Business Analyst, including United States Census datasets, you can analyze specific locations, geographic areas, or custom regions you create on the map, then share and analyze the data using shared maps and reports.

One of the scariest parts of college is just around the corner... MIDTERMS! Join the Health Pros LLC and the Learning Center – as they put a “spell on you” to do well on midterms with their program: HOW TO TAKE TESTS LIKE A BOSS! Learn about study tips as well as how to destress for the test. APM Tay will lure you to her cauldron with festive treats and sweets. After the study-skills workshop, there will be a costume party and a spooky prize basket.

Do you need a break? Come enjoy some popcorn and watch the film “The Founder” to later discuss the creation of McDonald’s. All while grab-and-go resources from the Counseling Center will be available!
