DWIGHT D. SMITH
Dwight D. Smith is an award-winning television producer who is the Co-President and Co-Founder of Mission Control Media,consistently ranked by the RealScreen organization as one of the top non-scripted production companies in the world. Smith moved to Los Angeles the day after graduating from Ball State University and within a few short years had worked his way up the ranks to become an award-winning writer with credits including General Hospital, Days of Our Lives and several sitcoms.
Smith then teamed up with producer Michael Agbabian,and the duo have been collaborating non-stop ever since,including projects such as Last Comic Standing, Weakest Link, Game Show Marathon and Phenomenon. In 2008, Agbabian and Smith formed Mission Control Media, specializing in premium reality television, documentaries and game shows. Since that time they have created and produced the Emmy and WGA Award-winning NBC game show Hollywood Game Night(starring Jane Lynch) in addition to the Critics’Choice Award-winning special effects make-up competition Face Off.
Other Mission Control projects include Pressure Cooker, an intense cooking competition for Netflix;Apple’s first show, Planet of the Appsas well as The Soup(E!), First and Last(Netflix) Adventure Beast(Netflix); FakeUp (Snapchat), Game Face(Syfy);Celebrity Food Fight(Food Network);How to Be a Grown-Up(truTV);Hot Set(Syfy);Marcel’s Quantum Kitchen(Syfy) and Late Night Liars(GSN) among others.
