Larry Messing
Director of Development for Teachers College
Larry is Director of Development for Teachers College, a position he has held since 2021.
He began his career in public relations working for the Salvation Army in Colorado Springs. Larry fell in love with nonprofit work there and eventually transitioned to fundraising, primarily in the education field. He began fundraising with Junior Achievement at national and local levels and was a development director for Communities in Schools of Indiana.
When he is not at the office or meeting with donors, Larry is still working hard to make the world a better place. He is passionate about community involvement and serves on three nonprofit boards.
Larry has two awesome stepsons and a growing number of perfect grandkids. As animal lovers, he and his wife have an obnoxious cat named Ogie who is in constant need of attention and makes cameo appearances in about 90 percent of his Zoom meetings.
In Larry's Own Words
“I have seen the influence great teachers have in the lives of students and I want to be part of making a better future. There is no better place to do that than at Ball State Teachers College.”
