President Mearns Shares His Gratitude

Due to COVID-19, Ball State University did not have its traditional day at the Statehouse in Indianapolis. In lieu of that in-person visit, President Mearns shared his gratitude via video to thank the members of the General Assembly for their work and to emphasize the value of their investment in Ball State and higher education.

Industry Engagement

Ball State University engages Indiana employers and regions to help our state flourish. There are many simple and accessible ways that our faculty, staff, and students can work with you to add value to your organization. We’d love to talk with you about how we are equipping our Cardinals with an entrepreneurial mindset that allows them to create their own futures and make an impact in your organization and community.

About Us

The Office of Governmental Relations & Industry Engagement serves as Ball State University’s principal voice and liaison with lawmakers, staff, and government agencies in local, state, and federal government.

We lead the University’s advocacy efforts, which are focused on legislative priorities, connected to our University assets, and are grounded in our enduring values represented by Beneficence.

Newsletter

We produce a weekly newsletter when the Indiana General Assembly is in session. We cover specific pieces of legislation and where they are in the process, as well as provide general summaries of how these impact Ball State.

Internships

An internship with government agency or legislator is an excellent opportunity to learn about the public policy process, develop communication skills, work on a team, build research skills, be career ready, and build professionalism.
