Speaker Bio:

Renowned for his groundbreaking work in exercise physiology, Dr. Trappe’s research focuses on the effects of physical activity, aging, and muscle adaptations at the cellular and molecular levels. His studies, often supported by prominent funding agencies such as NASA and the NIH, have yielded critical insights into how exercise can optimize human performance and health across the lifespan.
A significant component of his current work includes the NIH-funded MoTrPAC (Molecular Transducers of Physical Activity Consortium) grant, which explores how physical activity influences molecular pathways and their effects on overall health. This collaborative initiative aims to uncover the biological mechanisms behind the health benefits of exercise, with direct applications to the Muncie and East Central Indiana community. As a leader in his field, Dr. Trappe’s dedication to advancing science and mentoring the next generation of researchers has solidified the Human Performance Laboratory’s international reputation as a hub of excellence. This recognition highlights his commitment to innovation, collaboration, and impactful contributions to health and performance science.
