Dr. Phil Hoffman, assistant dean of Media and general manager of Ball State Public Media, has been elected to the Board of Governors of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS), Central Great Lakes Chapter. Governors are voted in by their peers in each chapter of NATAS.
Dr. Hoffman, who oversees Ball State’s Public Media stations—Ball State PBS and Indiana Public Radio—has a history of commitment to fostering excellence in media education and media production. With over two decades of experience in the industry, he is a multiple Emmy award-winning documentary filmmaker, with expertise in media management, content creation, and development using the tools of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
As a member of the board, he will collaborate with other industry professionals to shape the future of television in the Central Great Lakes region. The academy's mission is to serve its members, recognize excellence, and promote the highest standards in television professionalism.

Throughout his career, Dr. Hoffman has been recognized for his exemplary work and has received numerous accolades for his contributions to the media field. He holds an doctorate in Educational Leadership and has created more than a dozen documentary films and numerous television programs.
