The
Academic Project Support Office (APSO) focuses on media production and the technology
needs of faculty and academic departments across campus. As the primary conduit
between the University’s academic pursuits and the resources of information technology,
the APSO collaborates on a wide variety of media-rich projects.
The
early phase of all APSO projects involves careful consultation and planning
with the academic stakeholders to make sure the right technology is being used
to achieve the desired outcome. Then, strategic collaborations are established
with IT resources to see the project through to completion. Throughout the
entire process, the APSO guides and manages the project to make sure all
objectives are met on time and at the highest quality.
Media
and technology solutions facilitated by the APSO are as diverse as our campus-wide
partners. The process for finding the best solution for a project is very
detailed, but projects may include:
- video or audio production
- app development
- mobile and responsive web design
- touchscreen kiosks and displays
- digital publications
- online, collaborative workflows
- hardward consultation and purchasing
- software training and advising
As
a resource for the University community, not all projects require funding or
outside support.
Project
costs will be established at the beginning of consultation with the APSO.
