Student Center

The Student Center not only provides fun and free events, it's also home to many important offices on campus. Student organizations that provide entertainment and education for Ball State, such as the University Program Board and Student Life, have offices in the Student Center. Fraternity and sorority governance offices, volunteer organizations, and many more groups are housed in the Student Center.

The Student Center offers a variety of rooms and room set-ups for you to host your events and meetings. Meeting rooms are free to use for on-campus student organization, academic, and administrative events, you simply need to fill out an online request form. University Catering is the exclusive catering service for the Student Center.
Student Center Tally features Starbucks, Taco Bell, a chef action station, hearty soups, and a salad bar boasting more than 35 crisp greens, veggies, fruits, and other toppings

Located in the basement of the Student Center (SC L15) and is closed from 2pm - 3pm daily.

The primary function of the Billiards room is to serve as an activity space for admitted Ball State University Students and their guests.  The Billiards room is a reservable space.  The Billiards room can be reserved by Student Organizations in good standing, Departments, Faculty, and Staff for private events.  If the space has been reserved for a private event, appropriate signage will indicate such. Reservations will have priority. 

 

Billiards Room Rules: 

 

  • Pool cues are to remain at waist level and never used in any fashion other than their intended purpose. If a pool cue is used for any other purpose the user will be asked to leave and may be banned from returning. 
  • Keep food, drinks, and personal possessions off the tables.
  • Respect all equipment and return it how you found it.
  • Do not sit on the tables. 
  • Keep the space clean. Use trash cans to dispose of garbage.
  • Leave the room as you found it or better.

Introducing, Hot Heads on Campus, a Paul Mitchell styling salon located in the Student Center. The salon welcomes all students, faculty, staff, and visitors. We love to meet new guests!

The salon has four styling chairs and a waxing station. We offer cuts, colors, balayage, highlights, ombre, keratin, conditioning, brows, and beard services. We also carry a complete line of Paul Mitchell hair care products available for purchase. 

The salon is owned and operated by Tena Rees, a Ball State alumna, whom is thrilled to be back on campus.

Salon Hours:

Monday - Friday: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Saturday: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Office of Student Conduct provides the following services for the University community:

  • administers the Code of Student Rights and Responsibilities
  • responds to allegations of misconduct
  • provides support to the Associate Provost in grade appeals and academic misconduct procedures
  • helps students understand and navigate other university policies and procedures
  • oversees compliance with the Clery Act publishing annual security and fire safety reports for students, employees, and the general public.

Student Legal Services (SLS) can help you with

  • criminal law
  • all areas of civil law, including landlord/tenant, contracts, consumer, employment, tort, debtor/creditor, probate, real estate, traffic tickets, and family matters
  • provide you with legal reference materials and fill-in-the blank forms for leases, subleases, housing inspection forms, and roommates' agreements.  We also prepare some contracts and other legal documents.
