Allison Pareis
Academic Advisor
Allison Pareis is the academic advisor for the Architecture Department in the Ball State University Estopinal College of Architecture and Planning.
Ball State has long been a part of her life, earning both her undergrad and graduate degrees here (2005 BA in Telecommunications, Emphasis on Video Production, 2010 MA Digital Storytelling). She has also taught at Ball State both in the COMM Studies and Media Departments. Having both perspectives of a student and a professor on campus provides her with an insight she is able to use in her daily advising. Her favorite part of advising is getting to know the students individually and helping to support them through their educational journey.
In her free time, Allison enjoys telling the stories of life through a variety of media from painting, sculpting, photography, music, and video. In 2010, she produced a half-hour documentary for PBS entitled, Sculpting the Wind: Alexa King & the Making of the Barbaro Memorial Statue, which garnered multiple awards both nationally and statewide including being nominated for four regional Emmy Awards (winning two), A Videographer Award, a Telly Award, and was first runner up in the National Thoroughbred Racing Association's Eclipse Awards. Additionally, she has won numerous other national awards for her work in video and still photography.
Aside from her artistic work, Allison enjoys listening to music, cycling, riding horses, the outdoors, and spending time with her husband, Stan, and two dogs, Hairy Truman and Abbey Road.
