The Center for Historic Preservation is actively involved in preservation projects that promote economic development, build and strengthen community pride and identity, and improve the quality of life for Midwestern communities. By partnering with state agencies as well as community organizations, we are able to continually expand our knowledge base and increase students' immersive learning experiences.
Graduate students from Ball State’s Master of Science in Historic Preservation program, in conjunction with the director of the center, J.P. Hall are responsible for the projects completed at the center. Since our founding in 2004, we have built a name for ourselves as a respected resource for a vast array of preservation services, including historic structure reports, National Register nominations, Main Street program technical assistance, design assistance, preservation plans, heritage education, and heritage tourism.
