Students who participate in ISPE reading groups or colloquia are designated Horwitz Economic Fellows, named in honor of ISPE’s founding director, economist Steven Horwitz. Fellows engage with classic and contemporary works in political economy, participate in discussion-based programming, and become part of an intellectual community dedicated to the study of markets, institutions, and civil society.
Participation as a Horwitz Economic Fellow can complement involvement in other ISPE initiatives, including the Buchanan Scholars Program, Menard Research Fellows, student workshops, and public events.
