Optimus Primary Dr. Kaminsky and the FIHW are working in collaboration with Meridian health Service, IU Health Ball Memorial Foundation, and the IU School of Medicine – Muncie on this project. The challenge identified is to enhance the training of primary care physicians, specifically at the Muncie campus.

The FIHW has led an interprofessional team from the College of Health in developing a community-based  Healthy Lifestyle Center (HLC).  The HLC is now in its fourth year of operation. It operates primarily from the Health Professions Building on the Ball State Campus, but also provides support services at Meridian Health Services on Tillotson Ave.  The project has received multiple grants from the Ball Brothers Foundation as well as other agencies.

The FIHW supports programming at the Healthy Lifestyle Center (HLC). Current programs being offered by the HLC are the Diabetes Prevention Program and the Healthy Mothers Program. These programs are available to all in the East Central Indiana community. To learn more visit HERE.
