Economics is a very broad and rich discipline that provides tools to analyze a wide variety of issues in business, society, and politics. A major in economics provides excellent preparation for graduate and professional school, including law school, and for rewarding careers in consulting, finance, and other private and public sector employment.

Our students have gone on to work at JPMorgan Chase, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, the Indiana Senate, the U.S. House of Representatives, and to top law schools and doctoral programs.

We offer three majors through Miller College of Business and College of Sciences and Humanities. Our program features small class sizes taught by full-time professors, a thriving student economics club, and many other ways for students to get involved. Those include internships, the Fed Challenge, the John H. Schnatter Institute for Entrepreneurship and Free Enterprise, and the Center for Business and Economic Research.
