One of the foundations of the PhD in environmental sciences is the weekly Colloquium Series that began in 2011.
The series has provided for a breadth of presenters and topics over the years and draws outstanding speakers from around the country.
These speakers have included such noted scientists as
- Dr. Alan Stone, professor of environmental and aquatic chemstry at Johns Hopkins University
- Dr. Kaelin Cawley, aquatic ecologist, National Ecological Observatory Network at the University of Colorado at Boulder
- Dr. Richard Zepp, senior research scientist for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
- Dr. Hazel Barton, professor of microbiology at the University of Akron and co-star of the 2001 IMAX film “Journey Into Amazing Caves” and also featured on Animal Planet's “The Real Lost World” in 2006
The colloquium series also provides an excellent opportunity for faculty and students to present their own research.
These events are open to the Ball State University community and invited guests.
