Cardinal Weather Service
Our meteorology and climatology students have the opportunity to work with forecasting agency Cardinal Weather Service (CWS). You’ll get to generate real-time weather information for real-world clients and receive college credit.
This novel course (METC 426 Client-based Forecasting) lets you go beyond merely practicing forecasting—here you’ll analyze models, interpret data, and generate weather predictions as a team for people who need this information.
The CWS has its own forecasting center, which serves as the hub for the student forecasters.
Although mentored by faculty, the CWS is driven by students.
