Did you know Indiana secondary teachers are required to hold a journalism-teaching license to teach journalism and advise student media in grades 5-12? Did you know Ball State offers a license addition in this area for non-journalism education majors and post-bac licensed educators? If you’ve ever thought teaching middle or high school journalism and advising the school newspaper, magazine, yearbook, online or broadcast media would be rewarding, this program is for you.
Candidates will complete a total of five courses (15 credits) that will provide them with the preparation they need to pass the Indiana journalism-licensing exam for grades 5-12. As an added bonus, this license addition can be completed entirely online – thus serving the licensing needs of everyone near and far
