Joining a student organization related to your discipline can help you:
- academically by adding to your classroom and clinical learning with discipline-specific activities
- professionally by keeping you current on the latest news about your field as well as setting up networking practices and opportunities that may lead to internships and jobs
- socially by hanging out with other students who have similar interests
- financially through special savings for products or services
Our department has two student organizations:
The Student Academy of Audiology (SAA) is a national organization sponsored by the American Academy of Audiology (AAA), which serves as a resource for students pursuing a career in audiology. SAA provides information related to promoting and advancing the profession of audiology, education, and advocates for the profession. Learn more.
The National Student Speech-Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA) is a pre-professional membership association for students studying communication sciences and disorders. Whether you are an undergraduate or a graduate student, we encourage you to join the national group and our local NSSLHA. The local group meets monthly to plan educational and social events.
