Olivia Romeo
Student Success Coach
Olivia Romeo was born in Louisville, Kentucky, grew up among the cornfields in Southern Indiana, and then moved six hours away to Northern Indiana in pursuit of her bachelor's degree. While obtaining her B.A. in Communication Studies and minoring in Creative Writing, Olivia competed on her college's Forensics team, served as a Senator in her college's Student Government, dedicated time to writing for the college's weekly student newspaper, along with traveling to regional academic conferences to share her undergraduate research. Olivia moved to Muncie when she began Ball State's Organizational and Professional Communication Development (OPCD) master's program, and since then, has fallen in love with the Ball State and Muncie communities. Through her graduate assistantship, Olivia had the opportunity to instruct undergraduate communication courses, which is where she found her passion for connecting with students. Olivia is first generation, neurodiverse, queer, and passionate about providing space for students to show up as their authentic selves. She believes that self-authorship is one of the keys to success in her own reclamation journey, and is dedicated to meeting each Success Coaching student at whichever step of their journey they currently find themselves. In her free time, Olivia enjoys adjuncting, listening to audiobooks, getting treats at locally owned businesses, admiring the outdoors, and spending time with her partner, Mac, and their two babies, Samson and Juniper.
