New undergraduate and graduate students who reside in Ohio and Kentucky may qualify for dramatically reduced tuition at Ball State through the Reciprocity Program. By receiving in-state tuition, this special opportunity provides significant savings from our regular tuition rate for out-of-state students starting in Summer 2025.
- On-campus undergraduate students more than $18,000 per year
- Online undergraduate students more than $6,500 per year
- On-campus graduate students more than $17,000 per year
- Online graduate students more than $5,000 per year

Residency
The Reciprocity Program is open to legal residents of the following states:
Enrollment
Eligibility is available to applicants who are enrolling at Ball State for the first time as an undergraduate or graduate student beginning in Summer 2025. Current or previously enrolled students are not eligible.
Other Awards
Out-of-state undergraduate students who receive in-state tuition Reciprocity Program benefits are not eligible for these admissions merit awards:
- Presidential Scholarship
- Ball State Scholars Award
- Distinction Scholarship
- Academic Distinction Scholarship
Out-of-state undergraduate students who receive in-state tuition Reciprocity Program benefits may be eligible for the Provost Award.
Continuation
Students who are admitted to Ball State under the Reciprocity Program will continue to receive the tuition benefits as long as they maintain continuous enrollment (or have an approved leave of absence) and satisfactory academic progress.
