Held Wednesday, March 26th at 5:00 in Botsford/Swinford residence halls, this semiannual tradition gives students the opportunity to unwind with friendly dogs and enjoy delicious donuts, offering much-needed stress relief during a hectic time of year. “The dogs really help with the stress, and the donuts are a lifesaver—I often forget to eat this time of year!” shared one freshman attendee. For over a decade, this event has brought comfort and joy to students, providing a fun way to relax during finals preparation. Research shows that interacting with dogs lowers stress, boosts oxytocin levels, and even improves memory retention during high-pressure times. “Petting a dog can make students feel so much better—it's a simple, judgment-free way to relax and recharge,” noted a faculty member. For many students, these furry companions offer a sense of connection to home. “I miss my dog, and this helps me get through finals week,” said one student. With proven mental and physical health benefits—like reduced blood pressure and improved cardiovascular health—it’s no surprise that students flock to the event. “It’s worth it!” said one student, taking full advantage of the chance to de-stress.Join us at the next Dogs & Donuts event and take a well-deserved break with some furry friends. Because sometimes, the best study break is a wagging tail and a warm donut. 🐶🍩#BallStateStressRelief #DogsAndDonuts #CCIM
