Ball State University’s Office of Immersive Learning is pleased to accept proposals for the financial support of immersive learning projects.
The Provost Immersive Learning Sustained grant program is intended to support academic departments in setting up a process for ongoing Immersive Learning experiences for students. Examples of such courses include the immersive learning sections for the Digital Literary Review, Fine Focus, and Schools within the Context of Community, among others. After completing a pilot project, academic colleges and departments may apply for up to three years of support to fully integrate the immersive class or course section into the sponsoring department or college’s curriculum and budget.
Following this three-year integration period, it is expected that the Immersive Learning course or section of that course supported by this program will become a regular offering in the department’s curriculum, under a designated immersive learning course number and section.

In order to be considered immersive learning, a proposed project must meet the following criteria:
-

-
Collaborative: Students work collaboratively on teams.
-
Project-Based: Student teams create an outcome or deliverable that addresses a community-identified issue.
Interested applicants are strongly encouraged to attend a Provost Immersive Learning Grant forum. Dates and times for these events will be made available through Ball State Communication Center announcements. Additionally, applicants are encouraged to discuss ideas with Immersive Learning project managers, Kara DuQuette (kcduquette@bsu.edu) or Stacey Alexander (sjalexander@bsu.edu).
