Applications for this grant are submitted by the proposed project’s faculty mentor and must be approved by the applicant’s department chair and college dean.

Professor overlooks computersBall State University’s Office of Immersive Learning is pleased to accept proposals for the financial support of immersive learning projects.The Provost Immersive Learning Sustained grant program is intended to support academic departments in setting up a process for ongoing Immersive Learning experiences for students. Examples of such courses include the immersive learning sections for the Digital Literary Review, Fine Focus, and Schools within the Context of Community, among others. After completing a pilot project, academic colleges and departments may apply for up to three years of support to fully integrate the immersive class or course section into the sponsoring department or college’s curriculum and budget.Following this three-year integration period, it is expected that the Immersive Learning course or section of that course supported by this program will become a regular offering in the department’s curriculum, under a designated immersive learning course number and section.

Through immersive learning, students earn credit for working collaboratively with businesses, nonprofits, and government agencies to address community challenges. The faculty awards recognize faculty who have led outstanding projects.

Professor overlooks computersThe Offices of the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs and Immersive Learning are pleased to announce a summer incentive program that supports faculty writing and submitting scholarly work related to immersive learning or other high-impact classes. This incentive program is open to all full-time Ball State faculty who have taught a "core four" high-impact undergraduate course with the Banner attribute in recent years and are drawing on their high-impact teaching experience to complete an article, chapter, or longer manuscript. Faculty who are accepted into the program will receive $2000 to support their summer writing time.
