Immersive learning brings together student-driven teams guided by faculty mentors to create high-impact learning experiences. Through immersive learning, students earn credit for working collaboratively with businesses, nonprofits, and government agencies to address community challenges.
Purpose: The Immersive Learning Awards are given in recognition of demonstrated excellence in the creation, mentoring, and execution of immersive learning projects. Up to four faculty awards will be presented at an award reception to be held at the Immersive Learning Showcase. Winners will receive $1000.
Nomination Requirements: All immersive learning projects that were completed or that are still ongoing from Fall 2023, Spring 2024, or Summer 2024 are eligible for nomination. Projects that fit within the existing departmental curriculum (with or without grant funding) are encouraged to apply. Projects winning previous Immersive Learning Awards are NOT eligible for the awards. Projects nominated for previous awards that meet the above timeline are welcome to be re-nominated. Nominees must be current faculty members at Ball State; faculty who have left Ball State or have retired will not be considered.
Nominations may be made by students, faculty, staff, or administrators. Self-nominations are strongly encouraged! Nominations must be supported by the chair of the department to which the faculty mentor(s) report.
The deadline for submissions is 5:00 pm on February 29, 2024.
