A 2017 Carmel High School graduate is making musical waves in the Muncie community. As a junior at Ball State University studying music media production, Emma Boyd-Ryan has immersed herself in Whitely, a diverse, low-income neighborhood on the east side of Muncie, by teaching middle school-aged students how to produce music.

A 2018 Carmel High School graduate, Nick Shelton won the Don Childs Award for Excellence and Technology at the Jan. 8-13 Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival regional competition in Madison, Wis.

Carmel Theatre-goers will be in for a treat when Actor’s Theatre of Indiana presents an exclusive engagement of “The Circus in Winter.” The musical is based on a novel by Indiana novelist Cathy Day that details the history of a traveling circus that wintered in Peru, Ind. The script was crafted by 14 students in theatre and dance professor Beth Turcotte’s immersive learning class at Ball State University.
