Steve Horwitz, economics professor, national and local retailers have adopted alternative strategies for holiday shopping during the coronavirus. “First, they are emphasizing their online options, including curbside delivery. Second, and perhaps more important, they are extending their Black Friday sales earlier into the year."

Story notes that Jeff Holiday, a graduate teaching assistant at Ball State, is raising money to make a short fictional film that explores how to lessen or erase the stigma surrounding mental illness and suicide — in hopes that it will "spark a conversation" and help prevent other tragedies.
