People wanting to know more about coping with grief arising before and after a loved one's death will be interested in attending the 14th annual Hospice Foundation of America's bereavement teleconference.
The Fisher Institute for Wellness and Gerontology and the Community Center for Vital Aging are hosting the satellite broadcast program, "Living with Grief: Before and After the Death," from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. March 22 in the Worthen Arena lounge.
The teleconference is free and open to the public, but it is geared toward psychologists, social workers, clergy, educators, funeral directors and other professionals who counsel bereaved people.
A multidisciplinary panel of experts will explore the most current theoretical perspectives about loss and grief. The six featured panelists will focus on coping with life-limiting illness, understanding the grieving process and surviving the death of a loved one.
The panel will be moderated by Frank Sesno, a special correspondent with CNN and a faculty member at George Washington University's School of Media and Public Affairs.
