Ball State is seeking to honor Indiana women who have enriched the lives of others through outstanding accomplishments. 

The College of Sciences and Humanities is accepting nominations for the 2007 Indiana Women of Achievement Awards.

Specific categories for the Women of Achievement Awards include leadership in education, particularly in mathematics or science education; research in science or mathematics; leadership in community and/or university service; leadership within the business community; leadership in advocacy for women; and leadership in women's health issues. Other categories will also be considered.

The recipients will be recognized at the eighth annual awards dinner Oct. 17 at the Alumni Center.

Nominations require a letter describing the nominee's major contributions and identifying an appropriate category for the award. A current resume of the nominee, if available, is useful. Individuals nominating a woman should include his or her name, mailing address and telephone number along with the name, mailing address, telephone number and e-mail address, if available, of the nominee.

Letters should be sent to Fred Meyer, Department of Political Science, North Quad 237, Ball State University, Muncie, IN 47306. Nominations must be postmarked no later than May 15 to be considered.
