Four Ball State students who blog for a national communications firm discussed the future of media consumption at an April 26 conference in New York.

The student bloggers were members of the keynote panel at Mediapost's Outfront 2007 Conference.

The bloggers were Sean O'Key, a senior telecommunications major from Bradenton, Fla.; Betsy Pike, a graduate student in telecommunications from Muncie; Amanda Pollard, an English literature major from Muncie; and David Studinski, a senior journalism major from Fort Wayne.

Also participating in the conference was Mike Bloxham, director for insight and research for Ball State's Center for Media Design (CMD). He participated in a panel discussion about the future of television.

The media-savvy Ball State students have been voicing their opinions and describing their media habits on a blog hosted by Mediapost Publications called "Notes from the Digital Frontier."

The blog is a collaboration between Mediapost and the CMD, a research and development facility focused on the creation, testing and practical application of digital technologies for business, classroom, home and community. The blogs generate discussion between academia and industry about how the next generation of consumers use media.

The student blogs and profile information may be found at blogs.mediapost.com/digital_frontier.
