School corporations from across the country will visit Ball State University for the 2007 Teacher Fair May 2-3 in Worthen Arena.
The networking fair and interview scheduling will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. May 2 and scheduled interviews will be conducted from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 3.
The fair is open to any Ball State junior, senior, graduate student or alumni majoring in education. It provides participants an opportunity to collect information from school corporations, distribute their resumes and interview with potential employers.
"It's an exciting time for students to make the first major step toward their career. Job searching will never be this easy again," said Jennifer Warrner, assistant director of the Career Center. "It's also good public relations for the university because of the exposure we gain."
The 2006 program brought almost 100 school corporations to campus from around the country. The employers conducted more than 1,600 interviews with Ball State teaching candidates. One-fourth of those interviewed were offered employment, Warrner said.
"The event is well-represented, with employers from across the nation including Alaska. Generally half are from Indiana," Warrner said.
To register, create an account in Cardinal Career Link and then click "Teacher Fair 5/2/07-5/03/07 Participants" in the quick links list. Finally, click on the "Submit your Resume and RSVP" link.
