More than 800 people are expected to attend the Aug. 28 grand opening celebration and dedication of Ball State's newly renovated Scheumann Stadium.
Guests are invited to watch the Ball State Cardinals football team hit the gridiron for practice at 5:30 p.m. before the festivities kick off at 6 p.m. with self-guided tours of the stadium.
Visitors will have a chance to explore the plaza area, Kozel Media Center, Fisher Training Complex, north end zone seating area as well as the newly installed field turf. This year's annual Cardinal Varsity Club (CVC) dinner will be combined with the stadium grand opening, with university-catered tailgate stations throughout Scheumann Stadium, providing fans with delicious football fare.
Guests will also enjoy autograph and photo opportunities with players as well as listening to the Ball State marching band.
A dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony, honoring donors John and Janice Fisher, Paul and Pat Kozel and John and June Scheumann will take place on the field at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets will also be available at the Scheumann Stadium ticket office prior to the event.
