MUNCIE, Ind. – Ball State's Department of Theatre and Dance will present "Nunsense" June 12-15 and June 18-21 at the Cornerstone Center for the Arts, 520 E. Main St. in downtown Muncie.

"Nunsense" is set in Hoboken, N.J., where five nuns find 52 of their sisters dead after eating accidentally poisoned soup. The nuns use their ecumenical entrepreneurship skills to put on a show that will raise the funds to give their sisters a proper burial.

Bill Osetek, artistic director of Drury Lane Productions in Chicago, will direct the production. Ball State faculty members participating in the production include:

  • Michael Worcel, assistant professor of dance, choreography
  • Jodi Cotton White, instructor of theater, musical direction
  • Beth Turcotte, associate professor of theater, performing the role of the Reverend Mother

Dinner service begins at 6 p.m. for evening shows and 1 p.m. for Sunday matinees. Carino's Italian Grill will cater the buffet-style meal. A cash bar opens at 5:30 p.m. for evening shows and 12:30 p.m. for Sunday matinees.

Tickets are $30-$35 for the show and dinner. Theater-only tickets are $15. Tickets are available now from noon to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at Ball State's Theatre Box Office. The Downtown Dinner Theatre was established in 2005 through a Ball State Business Fellows project involving the College of Fine Arts, the Department of Theatre and Dance and the Miller College of Business.

Business Fellows, coordinated by Ball State's Career Center and funded by a $1.5 million grant from Lilly Endowment Inc., gives Ball State students the opportunity to turn academic knowledge into business solutions through intense, semester-long applied work experiences that will benefit an Indiana business, industry or organization.
