Ball State's spring graduation speaker, Burberry CEO Angela Ahrendts, is making sure her impact on the Class of 2010 and the university extends far beyond the commencement podium.

On April 23, Ahrendts invited roughly 40 graduating seniors into the boardroom of the London-based global luxury brand via a webchat. In addition to her videoconference, Ahrendts continues to engage this year's graduates through Twitter, the social networking site. She has approached her May 8 commencement speech as a dialogue, and her use of emerging media, both at Burberry and with the students, fittingly parallels Ball State's strengths in digital technology.
