Ball State's Department of Theatre and Dance will present "The Fantasticks" June 10-12, 17-19 and 24-26 at the Cornerstone Center for the Arts, 520 E. Main St. in downtown Muncie.
"The Fantasticks" tells the story of two infatuated teens who come of age through a serious — yet at times, hilarious — trial, surviving the ordeal with their love intact. The musical is one of the world's longest-running and features timeless songs such as "Try to Remember" and "Soon It's Gonna Rain." Harold Mortimer, associate professor of musical theater, will direct the production.
Dinner service for all shows begins at 6 p.m. Carino's Italian Grill will cater the buffet-style meal with a cash bar opening at 5:30 p.m. The performance will follow at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $30-$35 for the show and dinner. Theater-only tickets are $15. Tickets are available now from noon to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at Ball State's Theatre Box Office. Seating arrangements can be selected at that time. Cash, checks or credit-debit cards will be accepted. Contact the box office at 765-285-8749 or boxoffice@bsu.edu for more information.
The Downtown Dinner Theatre was established in 2005 through a Ball State Business Fellows (now Building Better Communities Fellows) project involving the College of Fine Arts, the Department of Theatre and Dance and the Miller College of Business.
