Ball State has added to its collection of regional Emmy Awards, winning four honors on June 19 during the 41st annual awards ceremony in Cleveland. Ball State has received 28 regional Emmys since 2000.
"Students earning these prestigious awards continue to show that our immersive learning experiences are paying off," said Tim Pollard, associate professor of telecommunications, "This type of outcome is a stamp of approval for what we do."
Two immersive learning programs received Emmys. Sports Link, which provides stories on multiple platforms, won for a feature on a basketball player. Students from the Virgina B. Ball Center for Creative Inquiry won for "Increasing the Odds," a documentary on business start-ups.
"What a highlight for the experience at the Virginia Ball Center," said Cecil Bohanon, professor of economics who mentored the student team. "Who would imagine that an economics professor would be part of an Emmy award-winning film?"
Recipients include:
