Harry and Rosemary Wong, two of the most sought-after speakers in education, will hold a free presentation titled, "How to Be an Effective and Successful Teacher," from 8:30 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Oct. 19, in Emens Auditorium.
The Wongs are authors of the best-selling book, "The First Days of School," which has sold more than 3.6 million copies. As founders of Harry K. Wong Publications, they are focused on bringing dignity to the teaching profession with affordable, quality content for educators.
In his role as general speaker, Harry Wong has traveled to every American state and Canadian province in addition to Europe, Asia, South America, Africa and Antarctica. He has received the Horace Mann Outstanding Educator Award and the National Teacher Hall-of-Fame Lifetime Achievement Recognition. His wife, Rosemary, has received the Silicon Valley Woman of Achievement Award and Southern Louisiana University's School of Education's Distinguished Alumnus Award.
"How to Be an Effective and Successful Teacher" is sponsored by Ball State University Teachers College and its Department of Elementary Education. The discussion is open to the public, with teachers, principals, administrators, college professors and instructors strongly encouraged to attend. Doors for the event will open at 8 a.m.
