Ball State University alumni Walter and Juanita Young have donated more than $63,000 through their estate to establish the Walter M. Young and Juanita A. Young Huntington County Scholarship. This scholarship will provide financial assistance to select Ball State students from Huntington County, Ind., who are pursuing a major in the College of Fine Arts.
Juanita passed away at the age of 100 on July 12, 2011. She graduated from Ball State with a bachelor's degree in art in 1932 and a master's degree in English in 1958. Her teaching career spanned more than 40 years. Juanita's husband, Walter, also graduated from Ball State with a bachelor's degree in chemistry in 1930.
Availability of the Walter M. Young and Juanita A. Young Huntington County Scholarship is dependent upon an awards selection process established by Ball State.
