Ball State University will host the Indiana Association of Nursing Students' (IANS) annual state convention from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on March 24 in the Cooper Science building.
The theme of the state convention is "24/7/365: It's Critical to Care." About 200 people are expected to attend the event.
"We were very excited to be chosen as the convention site for the Indiana Association for Nursing Students and are honored to bring this type of recognition to Ball State," said Angela Cox, faculty advisor of Ball State Student Nurse Association (BSNA). "We were chosen because of our active chapter and because of our advanced simulation labs."
BSNA will showcase the School of Nursing's simulation center at the convention. By participating in three different levels of simulation, nursing students across Indiana will have the opportunity to experience how simulation technology can enhance their learning.
Former television journalist and motivational speaker Anne Ryder will be the keynote speaker for the conference. Ryder will present her inspirational story in the Fine Arts building. Several other opportunities including resume-building and interview skills. Additionally, Indiana hospital recruiters will be available at the conference.
