The Lindsay "Spike" Van Dyke Scholarship in Lighting Design and Technology has been established by gifts in excess of $25,000 from friends and family of Lindsay Van Dyke. The scholarship will assist students at Ball State University studying design and technology within the Department of Theatre and Dance.

Van Dyke attended Ball State on a Presidential Scholarship and graduated magna cum laude in 2007 with a bachelor's degree in design and technology, with a concentration on lighting.

Van Dyke was completing graduate studies in lighting design and technology on a full scholarship at the College Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati when she died in an automobile accident.

Availability of the Lindsay "Spike" Van Dyke Scholarship in Lighting Design and Technology is dependent upon an awards selection process established by Ball State. Eligible students must be pursuing a major in theater with the design and technology option; actively participate in the production program; and display enthusiasm for the craft of lighting design and technology and appreciation of the role it plays in the performing arts. For more information about this scholarship, contact the Ball State Department of Theatre and Dance at 765-285-8740.
