Students will perform with live musical accompaniment for "Ball State Dance Theatre Live," on stage April 25-28 at University Theatre.
The Ball State Dance Theatre will present its first performance with live musical accompaniment when "Ball State Dance Theatre Live" comes to the University Theatre stage at 7:30 p.m. April 25-28.

"Working with live accompaniment is such a great learning experience for the dancers," said Audra Sokol, program director and assistant professor of dance. " Plus, having live music creates a greater energy with the audience's response and reaction."

Dancers will create an intimate and powerful experience by exploring the poetic relationship between dance and music. Sokol incorporated ballet, modern, classical and contemporary dance into the performance. Students have been practicing every day for two hours since the beginning of the semester, she noted.

Tickets for the performance cost $13 for the general public, $12 for faculty and staff, $10 for senior citizens and $7 for students. They are available from the University Theatre Box Office, open from noon to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Contact the box office at 765-285-8749 or visit www.bsu.edu/theatre for more information.
