Music for All, one of the nation's most influential music education organizations, will bring its national summer music camp to Ball State University for a second year. Symposium events are scheduled for June 23 through June 30.

Presented by Yamaha, the 2012 Music for All Summer Symposium provides high school instrumental music students and high school and middle school band directors an opportunity to engage in a week of instruction with renowned teachers, artists and fellow campers from more than 35 states and abroad. As part of the symposium experience, the Muncie community can participate in the musical offerings of the camp by attending Music for All's evening concerts and events. These performances include:

Yamaha Young Performing Artists: 8 p.m. Monday, June 25, at Emens Auditorium
The Yamaha Young Performing Artists (YYPA) recognizes outstanding musicians from the world of classical, jazz and contemporary music. Winners of this competition are invited to attend an all-expense paid weekend awards ceremony at the Music for All Summer Symposium, receive a performance opportunity with national press coverage and participate in workshops designed to launch a professional music career. The overall winner will also receive $5,000 in retail credit toward a professional model Yamaha instrument. This performance is free and open to the public, general admission. No ticket is required.

Indianapolis Brass Choir: 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, at Emens Auditorium
Indianapolis Brass Choir is a volunteer music ensemble of professional and nonprofessional musicians who play together to raise money for charities. This performance is free and open to the public, general admission. No ticket is required.

Buselli Wallarab Jazz Orchestra/Midcoast Swing Orchestra: 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, at Emens Auditorium
Jazz division students attending the symposium will perform a piece on stage with this 17-member jazz band based in Indianapolis. Admission: $15 adult reserved balcony seating, $5 student/senior reserved balcony seating, free to children 10 and younger. Time for Three: 8 p.m. Thursday, June 28, at Emens Auditorium
The trio Time for Three (Tf3) transcends traditional classification, with elements of classical, country western, gypsy and jazz idioms forming a blend all its own. Tf3 describes itself as a "classically trained garage band" and sets itself apart by carrying a passion for improvisation, composing and arranging. Admission: $15 adult reserved balcony seating, $5 student/senior reserved balcony seating, free to children 10 and younger. Drum Corps International Central Indiana (DCI): 7 p.m., Friday, June 29, at Scheumann Stadium
Seven of DCI's top corps showcase an early view of their 2012 shows, featuring the Blue Stars, Carolina Crown, The Cavaliers, Glassmen, Madison Scouts, Spirit of Atlanta and Troopers. Order tickets for the DCI show at www.dci.org or call 317-275-1212.
