Jim and Rita Myers have donated $30,000 to Ball State University to establish the Jim & Rita Myers Fund for Accounting Excellence. The fund will be used to advance the quality of the university's educational offerings in accounting as well as enhance the national recognition of the accounting department in the Miller College of Business.

Jim Myers received his accounting degree from Ball State in 1972 and started his early career in public accounting and consulting with Ernst & Young. He later became a founding partner of Kimmerling, Myers & Co., CPAs and Consultants, where he practiced for more than 20 years before merging the practice with BKD, CPAs. In 1999, Jim became the chief financial officer of Indiana University Health Bloomington. Both Jim and Rita volunteer and serve on boards and committees of various charitable organizations in Bloomington, as well as various state and national professional societies. Their daughter, Tracy Myers Webster, also is a graduate of Ball State.
