Kathy Wolf
Kathy Wolf will begin Jan. 9 as Ball State's new vice president for marketing and communications.

Terry King, Ball State’s interim president, today named Kathy Wolf as the new vice president for marketing and communications at the university.

“I’m thrilled and honored to be part of the Ball State University family,” Wolf said. “This is a university that’s on the move, and I look forward to being part of that momentum.”

Wolf comes to Ball State with a unique blend of corporate and nonprofit experience, including leading a successful rebranding effort at the University of Cincinnati designed to capitalize on strengthening and advancing the school. She helped lead the university’s Proudly Cincinnati campaign, an eight-year, $1 billion fundraising and engagement effort — only 1 percent of all American colleges and universities have ever successfully achieved a $1 billion campaign.

Additionally, as a seasoned marketing and communications executive with more than 20 years of leadership experience, Wolf helped develop strategic, creative marketing plans for three major brands housed within Procter & Gamble Professional, resulting in the implementation of major initiatives that advanced the brands.

“We were fortunate to have many qualified candidates, but Kathy’s expertise and background made her a standout in a robust field,” King said. “We’re eager to have Kathy join us and look forward to her leading a talented staff that will help shape the future of the university.”

Wolf, an Anderson, Indiana, native, welcomes the opportunity to return home.

“What led me here is the tremendous opportunity present at Ball State, but the fact that it happens to be near home is just an added bonus,” Wolf said. “I’m happy to come back home and even more thrilled that I get to be part of the innovative leadership team at Ball State.

“The Ball State that I knew growing up was always one that was well-respected and admired, but the Ball State that exists today is bigger, better and so very dynamic. There’s a greatness and graciousness that one encounters across campus — in the people and the programs. It’s time to shout from the rooftops that some of the best and brightest students, faculty and staff are right here at Ball State. I’m looking forward to partnering with all of the university’s key stakeholders, internally and externally, to continue to build on their successes, showcase what they do and tell the Ball State story.”

Wolf will begin her new position on Jan. 9.
