One Ball State Day (OBSD), the University’s annual day of giving and celebration of Cardinal spirit, returns for its seventh year on Wednesday, April 2. This day of beneficence brings together alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends to showcase the power of collective impact in advancing Ball State University and supporting student success.
Since its inception in 2019, One Ball State Day has demonstrated what can be achieved when Cardinals unite. Last year, more than 6,300 people contributed more than 8,400 gifts, raising nearly $1.2 million and emphasizing the deep connections and generosity within the Ball State community. This year’s OBSD continues that momentum, reinforcing the shared commitment to changing lives and strengthening the University’s future.
“One Ball State Day is a testament to the loyalty of our community and the enduring spirit of beneficence that defines our University,” said Ball State President Geoffrey S. Mearns. “Each year, our students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends come together to demonstrate their generosity and dedication. I am especially grateful to our faculty and staff who serve as ambassadors, spreading the word and finding creative ways to support this special day. Their enthusiasm and Cardinal spirit make a tangible difference in the lives of our students. I look forward to seeing our community’s continued support.”
Throughout the day, campus will be filled with activities that bring students and faculty together in celebration. This year’s events include:
- Headquarters at Emens Auditorium lobby: 10 a.m.-3 p.m. (games, prizes, and giveaways)
- Chuck a Duck, Frog Baby: 10 a.m.-2 p.m., or until ducks are gone

“One Ball State Day is more than just a fundraising event—it’s a celebration of our collective impact and what we can achieve together,” said Lola Mauer, associate vice president of engagement and strategy for the Ball State University Foundation. “Each gift, no matter the size, reflects our community’s commitment to advancing opportunities for students and making a lasting difference.”
